NV20
- February 2001
An upgrade product. Filled with nice new features and more transistors than a Pentium 4, but nevertheless an upgrade product. Note the color schemes of the logos over time.
There are two handy features put into this chip : one is a different memory management scheme which cuts down on bandwidth issues, the other is an all-new AA engine named Quincunx. Having bought 3DFX assets and developers certainly helped nvidia to blast performance issues on this extremely controversial feature.
